Interviewer: Congratulations, Wes, on your well-earned promotion! It’s a testament to your hard work, dedication, and invaluable contributions to the success of our organization.
Wes: Thank you so much! I’m honored to be featured in the Employee Spotlight and excited to share my journey at Novawatch.
Interviewer: Let’s dive into your background. Could you tell us about your previous work experiences and how you found your way to Novawatch?
Wes: Certainly! After my time in the Air Force, I explored different roles in sales and construction. However, my passion for construction-based work and management led me to focus more on that industry. Joining Novawatch was a turning point for me. The culture that has been fostered by our leadership team is truly exceptional. We prioritize our clients and treat their business as if it were our own, while also nurturing strong professional relationships within the company. It’s a fantastic environment to thrive in.
Interviewer: That sounds wonderful! How would you describe the culture at Novawatch?
Wes: The culture at Novawatch is something truly special. We have a strong sense of unity and care for our clients. Every team member puts in the effort to provide exceptional service, ensuring our clients feel supported and secure. Our leadership has created an environment where collaboration, innovation, and professionalism are highly valued. It’s this culture that has made Novawatch a great place to work.
Interviewer: Outside of work, what activities do you enjoy with your family?
Wes: When I’m not saving the world, I cherish every moment I can spend with my wife and two children. We love outdoor activities like camping and taking advantage of our Arizona roots by going swimming. We’re also fans of video games and playing hockey. Spending quality time with my family is my top priority, and these activities bring us closer together.
Interviewer: As a SOC Lead, could you tell us more about your role and the importance of cybersecurity in today’s digital landscape?
Wes: As a SOC Lead, my main responsibility is to provide leadership and guidance to the SOC Analysts. I focus on fostering a high-performing and collaborative team environment. This involves establishing clear roles, responsibilities, and career development paths for our team members, ensuring that our Security Operations Center operates efficiently & effectively.
In today’s digital world, cybersecurity is crucial due to the ever-increasing frequency and sophistication of cyber threats. Having a dedicated team to detect and contain these threats is essential for businesses of all sizes to keep their house in order, so to speak. As a SOC Lead, I understand the significance of staying at the forefront of emerging technologies, threats, and defense mechanisms. Cybersecurity professionals must constantly adapt, innovate, and dedicate themselves to safeguarding digital systems and data that they are tasked to protect.
